Our History
IngenieriaBCN is an engineering company founded in 2006 by Industrial Engineer Josep Aguilera, a member of the Professional Association of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia. The office is located in Barcelona, but we provide services throughout Catalonia and Spain.
2006 — The Business Idea Was Born
The founder, Industrial Engineer Josep Aguilera, worked for a construction company, where he was responsible for project management and the supervision of building works and installations. At the onset of the economic crisis, he decided to pursue his ambition of launching a new engineering services venture and established his engineering company in Barcelona.
2007 – First Clients
After considerable effort in acquiring new clients, the first results began to appear, and our first customers commissioned projects for activity licences, building permits and electrical installations.
2013 – Office Relocation to Barcelona
After several years of work and client satisfaction, not only in Barcelona and Catalonia but also nationwide, the company continued to grow and steadily expand its client portfolio, working for different restaurant franchises, hotel groups, and more. As a result, the decision was made to move the office from Sant Boi to Barcelona and hire new professionals.
2014 – Office in the Centre of Barcelona
Thanks to the high quality of work carried out and the company’s efficiency, the client base continued to grow. A larger new office was therefore rented in the centre of Barcelona to accommodate the newly hired technicians and continue providing clients with an excellent service.
2016 – International Experience
Industrial Engineer Josep Aguilera decided to move to Switzerland to gain further professional experience in a highly competitive, serious and skilled market, with the aim of improving the services offered in Spain. He also improved his English and, being in a German-speaking country, achieved a C1 level in German, enabling him to provide services to international clients.
2019 – Return and New Beginning
After several years working in Switzerland and with more experience than ever, Engineer Josep Aguilera decided to return to Barcelona and relaunch his engineering services company with renewed enthusiasm, continuing to offer a competent and competitive service tailored to each client’s needs.
